Surely he has Borne our Griefs

about

Good Friday, April 10, 2020 (In the midst of the Corona crisis):

I did this arrangement of G.F. Händel's "Surely he has borne our griefs" years ago for a tour we did back then called the "Classic Festival", where I also sang this live. We used to play it with a full band, orchestra & choir, but I found the backing track last week and really liked this stripped down version.

I played and sang it for you this afternoon. The words are powerful and so moving, Isaiah 53:4-6.
Hope this speaks to you again, it really moved me when I sang it.

lyrics

Surely, surely
He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows

He was wounded for our transgressions
He was bruised, he was bruised
For our iniquities

The chastisement, the chastisement
Of our peace was upon him.
